Something is happening — looks like the “You For Me” video is going viral, without a publicist, without a label, without a single marketing dollar! Views have now gone from 25,000 yesterday, to over 83,000 last I checked!
(And it’s been stuck there for a while!!!!!!!!)
It’s so crazy, because I’m watching this happen, exactly 5 years after ‘Say It’s Possible’ took off in much the same way, and it’s kind of hard to believe!
I’m so proud of everything that went into this video — the process of recording the album, Alex Albrecht’s beautiful directing, Hipstamatic’s contributions — it’s been a labor of love for all involved, and it looks like something is really going right.
Thank you all for sending the video and album link to your friends, for tweeting about it, liking it on Facebook, for telling everyone you know about it…this album release is dependent entirely and exclusively on social networks, and I had no idea what would happen….was hoping to catch some of the same luck I was blessed with 5 years ago.
This has been a grueling process, and I don’t want to bore you with all the details! Basically, I’ve been working 18 hour days, cold-calling and emailing heads of technology companies and iPhone app developers, reaching out to online influencers, asking people to take a few minutes and listen to the music. It is exhausting and sometimes frustrating, always exciting, and really hard! I thought I knew what it felt like to work hard. Nope. Not til now. And I love it. I’m so grateful. Most of all, I’m grateful to the people in my life, family, friends and fans, who reinforced my will to keep going, refused to let me give up at various points along this very ambitious path.
Who knows where this will go, or what will happen next — all I know is that I’m really proud of where we’re at right now.
