Actually, just north of Paris. I’m staying at the home of the promoters of Paris show, and they are doing such interesting, artistic things…they moved from their apartment in the center of Paris into a neighborhood just north of the city, and are working on a project for the community, bringing people together through the arts. Creating a real community, encouraging interaction with neighbors, encouraging people to know each other, through art and music and sharing of culture. I’m so lucky to meet people like this!!! They don’t just talk about it…they live it…it’s inspiring!!!!!! So before I move on to the topic of Paris, here’s a video from the other night, in Copparo, Italy. It was another incredibly inspiring week, with the organizers and sponsors of Eco Days. (Read my blog from Day 2, if you’d like to learn more about that!) My friends Silvia Smaniotto and Nicole Pellicano joined me for a few songs. It was amazing to sing with them. We met last year, in LA, when they were singing with Elisa at the Ford Amphitheater, and we had a wonderful time together…so when they offered to come sing with me in Copparo, I was so excited. They are also joining me in Turin, for the recording of the live album!! I will photos from Melissa Iannace very soon, and will post them on the website. It was a magical night and I can’t wait to share the photos with you!!! Hope all is well out there, and look forward to seeing some of you tonight, at Les Sentier des Halles! It’s so exciting, to see what the local township and sponsors have put together for this week-long event. Yesterday, I went to a middle school in Copparo and played for the students. We spoke about environmental sustainability, and what we can do to help. It’s such a complicated issue….simply being alive on this planet uses resources, and it’s so hard to know what to do, how to help… I’ve been thinking about it, a lot. In my opinion, we can do as much as we can — use glass water bottles and refill them (Here’s mine: CLICK but it’s pink, of course!); use ceramic coffee mugs, rather than paper; take reusable bags to the market; ride bicycles rather than cars, as often as we can (CLICK HERE TO SEE LA MIA BICICLETTA!)…. The reality is that most things in this world are out of our control. We are on a certain path, and we will keep going on this path. To expect otherwise is simply unrealistic. So, we do what we can. We take control over the things we can change. And if we all do our best, we can reduce the waste, reduce the pollution, preserve the precious resources we currently have, and improve the quality of life on this planet, for as long as we inhabit it. Take care of the earth, the animals, each other. That is the most we can hope for, I think, and it is within our control. Here are some photos from yesterday: At the school in Copparo:
