It’s true.
What is this bullshit?!?
No photos, no links, no videos, just a whole lot of bullshit words.
That’s all I’m capable of this morning, I’m afraid.
I will write a post-tour blog REALLY soon, but this morning I just need to get some information out to you immediately.
1. The T-shirt contest
(Yes – there was a T-shirt slogan contest which I came up with while bored out of my mind on a long bus ride. You guys sent in ideas. We all voted.) THAT T-shirt contest.
The winning entry was “Follow me. I’ve got Vicodin.”
Now, I’m a big fan of fair votes, but I’m also a big fan of “common sense” and I just can’t release another Vicodin T-shirt out into the world. I’m really sorry for those who voted. You bunch of druggies. hahaha Just kidding. See, I know that those of you who already know me know that the song is about a lot more than drugs – fun stuff like loneliness, longing, heartache – but for those who do not yet know me, I don’t want to give them the wrong idea or put irresponsible messages out into the world. One Vicodin shirt is enough, and I recently found a few ladies sizes hiding in my closet, so go ahead and get one on my website store if you feel the need…
2. Elliott’s illness
Thanks to everyone who asked about the little guy following last night’s emergency pet hospital visit. He’s fine. Was just an upset tummy. He slept well and we’ve been warned about the possible onset of “bloody diarrhea” (a concept which should make anyone potentially interested in getting a dog think at least twice).
3. MP3 giveaways
I am still working on the best way to deliver a whole bunch of music to you guys. I liked tweetforatrack but it ended up functioning quite shittily and we had to abandon. Bummer, too, cos the first day was great. So many new applications out there and being one of the first people to test them has its pros and cons. Be patient with me and I will get your free music to you, yeah? (I totally feel like your bitch right about now….but it’s 100% ok.)
And now I’m going to continue with my day.
Stopping by a film editing studio to write a song for a very cool movie and I’m super excited.
Don’t know if the track will make it into the film, but the song I’m writing will replace a cover I did which, thanks to the publisher, we were not able to get the rights to. (Forgive me, but in this day and age, what is the point of that? Potentially expose a whole bunch of people to a song which many of them have never heard, written by a band most of them do not even know…what is the downside of that? Perhaps that is why the music business is in such a bad place. Music, on the other hand, has never been in a better place!)
And then to Fannius’ studio to record more new songs!
And some acoustic version of old songs.
Yes indeed.
Lots of love to you guys on this fine morning.
